Slipped on a rock on a step and fell backward breaking my radius into several pieces. Dr. Mercer fixed it with a plate and nine screws. After rehabilitation I have full usage of my wrist and am grateful that I was lucky to have her as my surgeon.
Dr. Richter performed my rotator cuff surgery. My experience was phenomenal. He is a very competent and compassionate surgeon. He was supportive of my recovery including my PT and acupuncture. I would recommend Dr. Richter if you need orthopedic surgery.

I have had pain for the past decade-or-so, and didn’t expect too much from my appointment with Dr. Cushing. I have seen so many doctors, specialists, etc. in the past several years and have been largely unimpressed with many of them (regardless of whether they offered possible solutions). Words will never be able to describe how grateful I am for having Dr. Richter as my surgeon. He did my ACL and PCL. Through the months of knowing him, he has been the absolute best. He reassured me that everything is okay and it was! He was so transparent in every step of the process and so knowledgeable it truly was amazing and I'll always be honored for having Dr. Richter to work on me. I won't ever recommend anyone else. He is truly the best!
I wish that I had the same experience as the other reviewers, but I didn’t. I had a trigger finger and have had problems since about the third day when I was able to take the bandage off. The wound wasn’t closed and I thought maybe the glue wore off. I went in for my follow up and she sent me to OT, because my finger was still bent and for wound care. It’s now two months later and was put on an antibiotic finally for infection. It’s still a trigger finger but worse that it ever was before the surgery. I’ve had two other trig... read more
I simply could not have asked for a better surgeon. I had a complete tear of the supraspinitus tendon in my right shoulder. Dr. Richter flawlessly performed the reattachment surgery. He, and every single person working under his guidance, are highly personable, completely professional, and absolutely top notch at what they do. I feel unbelievably fortunate to have him in my city of residence. I could not imagine receiving better care anywhere in the world.
I hope you are fortunate enough to be treated by Dr. Mercer. She and her team are exceptional. I fractured my wrist beyond the beyond. Six days post op, I am -- lightly, but assuredly -- playing the piano. She's good!
I highly recommend Dr. Paul Afek. He has been my doctor for years, and he is very friendly, a good listener, and explains things thoroughly.
