Please note that many of the 5 star reviews on this site are from members of James' firm. Pretty obvious when a rating is given with no supporting detail. James' lack of case law knowledge and unpreparedness caused my family the ultimate pain. My kids continue to suffer greatly. I could have represented myself better. He lost everything for me and charged a fortune.
One star because zero is not an option. Please consider this a warning and do not waste your money on this expensive and ineffective firm especially James Quigley. The associate in my case was the one who knew all the details. James rarely met with me or took the time to read or respond to my emails. Yet, he was the one who spoke in court and was clueless as to what was going on in my case. Quigley is a pig. I am in my mid 30s and am the son of one of Quigley's clients. He has prayed on my family's misfortune for over a decade. He has refused to settle a straightforward case so that he can churn fees higher and higher. What's more, at every natural opportunity to negotiate towards a settlement he has acted as in independent agent and an obstructionist. He has manipulated his client who is uninformed on legal matters. He should be in prison. He is a BAD guy.
I followed James' advice and ended up paying thousands more in maintenance "for life" than I should to my ex. Far more in child support than I should have. He had little understanding of complex financial matters concerning my business. I had to go back to court for a visitation issue and hired a different attorney. When my new attorney looked at my case he confirmed what my gut told me, that I was paying too much. I ended up getting my support lowered by $6000 a month.
