Here's advice given to me by the phlebotomist: if you are a walk in and you sign in, accept whatever time the suggested appt time is, despite the fact that as a walk in you will 'be seen in 30-60 min'. You have a better chance of getting taken back WITH an appt. I didn't accept the 10 am appt time at sign in bc I start work at 10 am and when I signed in at 8:20am I assumed I would be seen within the hour. 50 min later they came and told me I would've been seen sooner if I had accepted the 10am appt at check in.
