If you're going to make scheduling online appointments available then you need to limit the amount of walk-ins and/or add more staff. People should not have to wait more than 30 minutes for their scheduled appointment in a cramped waiting area.
Jessica was amazing. I typically pass out when I give blood, but she was so sweet, understanding and comforting- I did not pass out. She was so pleasant and it’s getting me over my fear of blood draws. Just make sure when you check in at the kiosk, you do not select wait outside for them to call/text you because the system is not set up for that, they will not do that, they will come out to the waiting room and call your name and you will not be there. Last time I had gone to Quest, there were no appointments - walk-ins only. So I made the mistake of walking in here. I signed in on the tablet, since there’s no one at a desk you can actually talk to, and it mentioned waits could be as long as 30-60 minutes, and appointments take priority, which makes sense. We used to be able to go in at 6am and be seen. This making appointments is truly an inconvenience because it gives you later times and I’ve even look days out and there was still no early a.m. appointments!!! Sad
Patients were very overbooked on 8/12/24. There were 5 or 6 of us with 8 a.m. appointments who were still waiting at 8:20. Waiting room was jammed full. Then when the tech was preparing to draw my blood, she had a radio on which made it hard for me to understand her. I asked her to turn it off, and she did (for only a brief time.) This was the worst visit to Quest I've ever had. Normally they're top-notch: friendly, pleasant, superb at their task of blood drawing. I hope it'll be better next time.
