I left my experience at Quest Diagnostics feeling very disrespected. The way I was spoken to felt extremely aggressive and condescending, as if I was being treated like I was stupid or had done something wrong. I understand that healthcare can be stressful and that employees have policies they need to follow, but there is still a way to communicate with patients respectfully. I had an appointment scheduled for bloodwork that I had made around the availability of transportation to this lab. I gave myself one hour. They did not take me until 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. Even though the waiting room was full, the manager proceeded to take her break standing outside the glass doors to the entrance. She left new employees who were still in training to handle patients by themselves, while other long standing employees were on their lunch breaks. Officexwas training a new person. BinsteD if having the two trained personnel, they only had one. So I was 30 minutes late getting in. It took 40 minutes for the new employee to understand and get the orders into the computer. Then because I weigh 105cabd havecrolling veins I asked for a butterfly but they said they were out. I refused a regular needle as I have had very bad experiences thecthree times I have let them use them. The trainer went out and looked in her car but dud not have any.
