During my visit to this Patient Service Center, I was unable to effectively communicate with the nurse assigned to me due to a significant language barrier. The nurse did not speak English and attempted to rely on Google Translate; however, this was insufficient to ensure clear communication. I want to state that I have no issue with a provider’s language or nationality. I was called in shortly after arriving at this Quest facility even though I was very early for my appointment. The technician, Carla, was extremely kind, pleasant and proficient. My visit was completed quickly and painlessly.
After waiting over an hour past the scheduled time, my wife was seen by an Asian staff member and spoken to condescendingly, as if she were a second class citizen. That staff didn’t want to do anything, but she would question every test my wife’s doctor ordered. She didn't want to touch anything and demands my wife orient and place the test to her specification. (Happens to be in direct sunlight.) If my wife could draw her own blood, she would make her do it.
My visits have always been pleasant and comfortable with the friendly staff. Carla is a true professional and treats everyone with the utmost care.
