WOW. Rudest lab tech woman EVER. I don't know her name because she didn't introduce herself and had no nametag on. How in the world does she have a job like this??? I had an appointment. When this lady finally came out, she said she had to do her normal work so I would have to wait because her job is "more than just taking blood". The low reviews for this location make complete sense. I am not scared of needles at all, but I was nervous as heck in there with this woman!! Goodness Gracious!!
I haven't had this issue with Quest in the past, however I had a bad experience at this location. The tech working when I dropped in, Launie, refused to work with me. She stated that they don't do walk-ins, even though the signs in the facility, their website, and check-in software indicate they do. After addressing this, she cleaned her area, followed by a trip to the bathroom. After more free time elapsed, she stated there was a late appointment she was waiting for so couldn't fit me in.
Awful experience. My medical provider ordered lab tests for a chronic medical condition. I arrived to my Quest appointment early to receive a price quote with my insurance coverage (this is what I was told to do when I called the Quest national number ahead of time to get a quote). At the appt. the technician told me I could not get a quote, she could only tell me what tests were covered, what were not, and the uncovered amount which was over $400. I was sent to this location as it was the closest to where I live. Unfortunately, they did not have the proper equipment to complete my test. It would have been nice to receive a phone call before I drove 30 minutes and became anxious due to the blood draw. I mentioned that to the tech and stated that they should be checking that they have everything and the proper equipment they need before a person walks in their doors. The phlebotomist was great! But the exam room was freezing cold. I had to leave my coat on until the blood draw, and my hands were very cold after just 10 minutes there. Safeway/Quest needs to fix the heat/ac situation here both for patient and employee comfort. I don’t know how the phlebotomist works all day in such a cold environment.
