This was our second time taking the mine tour. The first time was in 2002. It’s an amazing tour and I highly recommend it. We were looking forward to coming back this time to show our kids. They had a great time.
Our tour was way over crowded. There were so many people, we couldn't hear our guide or see anything he was showing us.
Lovely museum and information on various gems and rock formation. The tour was well narrated and educational. The guides definitely love their job and have a passion for mining. Ask for the special stop with the florescent rock viewing.
Really cool tour! Make sure to book online to reserve your spot. Once there, you can check in and they'll give you a colored badge and call you up by color to outfit you with your hard hat, vest, and lamp. Then, you all board the small train and you go into the tunnel. The train takes you past an old shaft and some closed off tunnel areas.
