My discomfort began on Monday, when I started experiencing cramps. Concerned, I called maternity triage that evening. I phoned again on Wednesday and Thursday, each time being put through to the same woman. On all three occasions, she dismissed my concerns, telling me: “You are just in early labour you’ll know when you’re in actual labour. Appallingly run centre. AVOID. Every time we're there we have to wait 30-90 minutes. The doctors and nurses whisper the names to the huge group of waiting mothers, fathers and screaming children. So nobody gets to their appointment on time, I think by intention. I end up calling for and even looking for patients as nobody involved in the service has any interest in it working. I had a lukewarm experience giving birth at this hospital. There team I had for my birth were attentative and throgough, as was my assigned midwife for birth only. However the quality of care pre and postnatal were horrid. Midwives shared my personal records with the Local Authority who lied even in court. The Perinatal Mental Health harrassed me and this affected my child's life. These lies were fueled by Children's Services who kept me in a room with men staying overnight with no medical reason.
