I arrived at QEUH Saturday morning around 10am with stroke like symptoms Everybody I saw from first triage nurse Nicole or Nicola then a superb nurse I didn’t get his name but he was incredible kept me talking and joking with me while taking bloods and inserting canula when I asked why the canula he replied “well your face is away to Gourock as they say” 😂 Then a wait of around an hour and a half before being seen by the wonderful Dr Kier !! After hearing dreadful things about A&E - I was pleasantly welcomed, triaged within 20 minutes and seen by a Doctor within an hour. I had all the necessary tests, was offered tea and a sandwich.. and discharged 6 hours later feeling very reassured.

I recently had an A&E visit and was truly disappointed by my experience. Particularly with the admin / reception staff, who were rude and extremely unhelpful. They were not busy there were hardly any other patients to see, so there was no excuse for the behaviour. Chatting, ignoring me, being rude, dismissive and unprofessional.
