Brought here by ambulance last night due to chest pains. It was fairly busy but my treatment was very good. All the staff that treated me were friendly and efficient. I was there a few hours but only because they did two blood tests each of which they had to wait an hour to get full results, also had an ECG and chest x-ray. It was nice there was free squash and biscuits available and at one point staff came round with hot drinks and sandwiches also free. Appalling A and E department, small, cramped, stuffy room. The place and lack of service is not fit for purpose, certainly not for such a major regional hospital. At least if you expect people to wait for hours and never to be treated, give them a humane place to wait with more space, as they used to have in fact. Insufficient seating and trip hazards everywhere including other patients, due to not enough space. No space to stand even. No social distancing possible. Thank you for doing a great job of treating my horrendous cat bite on my palm! As a musician my hands are so important. So much appreciate being looked after by A& E docs and wonderful plastic surgeons. Unfortunately too tired to remember anyone's name but please pass on my thanks!
We had to visit the Children’s Emergency Department today as our daughter developed a very high temperature. The entire staff did an amazing job! It also happened to be her birthday today. When they found out, they organised a present for her — such a thoughtful gesture. At the same time, they carried out all the necessary tests and diagnosed the issue quickly.
