I had booked this hotel for two nights but only stayed one due to the poor conditions and not being able to cancel my reservations. I have no idea how this motel had a four star rating . The carpet needs to be replaced it’s so filthy amongst the curtains and furniture. The smoke detector was wrapped in aluminum foil, dresser draw broke it would not close, the vent was exposed, headboard greasy and stained . The baseboard around the wall is carpet and it’s dusty . I booked a room at Quality Inn Southaven at 6:34 p.m. on July 30 due to a power outage. My power was restored unexpectedly, and I canceled at 7:31 p.m.—within an hour. I called the hotel directly, spoke to a staff member (Puvi or Pruvi), and was told I had to cancel through Expedia, which I did immediately. Despite canceling in good faith and never using the room, the hotel refused the refund.
