I requested an estimate on a fence/gate repair. I insisted it be done with the existing 6" by 6" posts and supports. He told me 6X6's are "overkill" but would comply. I got sent an estimate using 3" by 4" post/supports. I told them I needed it to be replaced as it was and requested another estimate. They mailed me another with 4" by 5" posts/supports, both estimates for round pieces when mine are square. After the second time, I told them I'll shop elsewhere.
