On Monday Aug.4/25 my 5 yr.old grandson developed an abcessed tooth.We had just arrived in Qualicum Beach the night before. His cheek was red and swollen. Fortunately we were able to get an emergency appointment with Dr.Jag. After a check-up and xrays,it was decided that the tooth had to be extracted.As this was a serious,rare occurrence for a child ,Dr.Jag was able to contact a pediatric dentist in Nanaimo who was on holidays to make arrangements to have it pulled at the hospital. I can't find my previous review so not sure what happened there but avoid this place at all costs. Mcshane did my braces here as well as unnecessary extractions and then retired and did not finish my treatment. Whatever he did to my mouth he left me with chronic pain that has severely impacted my quality of life for the last 6 years and they refused to take any accountability. My teeth dont even look nice which was my primary concern. They are awful and it was the biggest mistake of my life trusting them.
Had Dr. Javier take multiple x-rays, gum recession measurements etc and bill my insurance to the max. A cracked tooth was noted. No follow up whatsoever. Emailed regarding the tooth and never heard back. Missed an appointment and was billed the next day. I got the feeling I was just a walking dollar sign. Taking my business elsewhere!
I had excruciating tooth pain so bad I was unable to sleep! I called Qualicum Dental the next morning and they had me in within 30 minutes of them opening. They have helped me in immense ways. My dentist even texted me to follow up on how I was feeling and answered all my questions promptly via text or phone call (even after hours). They were all so kind, caring and compassionate. I 100% recomened Qualicum Dental. Their staff are truly amazing.
