AN OLD SCHOOL VET I feel some of these reviews are unduly harsh. Yes, granted, there is not ambience to speak of, not even ragged year old Dogfancy mags, in the waiting room. But its clean, and the lack of stimulus is calming to my dogs. The receptionist has a personality disorder,or is extremely shy and would benefit from pharmaceuticals, but I don't go there to socialize, but is irrelevant. Dr. Fernandez has proven herself to be a kind, competent vet on several occasions with my 4 dogs and 2 cats. And her prices are greatly ... read more
Considerate, pleasant & caring I don't understand the negative reviews. I was impressed that I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes in the lobby, was seen by the Dr and she obviously loved my animal. Was very tender and my cat actually liked her! She had great prices and gave great advice. Instead of giving my older cat all the vaccines she could have and gotten more money she cared more that it would be too many for my cat and told me to come back in a few weeks. I have recommended her to many people. As for the receptio... read more
A Better Review I certainly agree that the receptionist can be unfriendly and seems almost uninterested in one's pets even if you are a loyal customer who has been coming for five years. Nevertheless, I have found Dr. Fernandez's care to be very good and her prices quite reasonable even inexpensive. Moreover, she and her staff seem to care about the pets they treat and have always treated by dog well (even lovingly). So, if you can stomach the unfriendly receptionist, the care at Wayfarer is very good and reasonably priced b... read more
would not go there Lady at front desk is very unfriendly. I have been going there for 3 years and never has she even pretended to know any of my three animals (who have been there many times) or myself. She is a cold person. My dog had surgery a few weeks ago and I ran in at 5:25 (they close at 5:30 and I was working) she screamed at me and told me she did ot have to let me have my dog! I seriously thought she was joking...not the case! I could go on and on but overall you are better off going some place else.
Can do more harm than good I brought my cat there because he was scratching himself so severely that he created a gash on his face. Dr. Fernandez didn't bother to try to find the cause or treat the wound. Instead, she prescribed steroids, which caused my cat's eyes to roll to the back of his head! He got really sick from them, and this vet insisted that the steriods were not the cause. However, another vet told me that they were. The staff is pretty nice but the doctor is cold. The whole thing cost me $80 and it made my cat'... read more
Don't bother Bad communication skills, unfriendly environment, inconsistent pricing. You had better figure out what is wrong with your pet before you go in there because I guarantee they won't be able to. But, they are happy to charge you for doing absolutely nothing.
