They removed the meat and seafood counter and turned it into a wall of pre-packaged products. Such counters are what divides true grocery stores / neighborhood markets and convenience stores. I’m jumping ship for Safeway.

Little pricey, friendly staff – We just moved to the neighborhood and have been to QFC several times so far. Quite a bit more expensive than Haggen's and Zupan's which I'm used to shopping at. Nice staff, but the place is a tad cramped and limited in some of their selections. Parking is ok, but it is pretty much the only game in the area. Just sucks when you have a to pay a premium for essentials.
Not all Sellwoodites are rich. – Yikes! The prices! Paying close to $3.00 for hot dogs is downright scary! Actually, things have gotten a little better here since they introduced their "QFC Advantage Card" which gives you discounts on different items every week. But still, these prices are still a little scary. I usually go here because it's close and conveinient only; for real hard-core shopping I go to Food4Less. This is just too expensive. I wish Market Basket Thriftway had never left Sellwood.
