The cottage was lovely and well set up. The beds were comfy and the kitchen well-equipped. Our only minor issue were with the cafe which had already turned off the coffee machine at 3.30pm and being told at check-in that the Engine Room Bar was open for dinner, when in fact it was closed for a function.

This was a bit of a step back in time for me as I worked as a Quarantine nurse in 1979 at this location on 2 occasions. There was no staff I found that were particularly interested in my story and the person from the museum on the wharf was not around the day we visited. We went out both nights for dinner as we meet family and friends and also out for most of the middle day of our stay, so we were back and forth to reception and to our car quite a bit. Unique and beautiful location undermined by sub standard room representing poor value for money. Room was in dire need of a deep clean. Overall maintenance was poor. Everything seemingly done on the cheap. Service levels were inconsistent suggesting poor management and training. Breakfast was very poor value for money.

Wir waren auf einer kleinen Rundreise zwischen Melbourne, der Great Ocean Road, den Snowy Mountains, Canberra, Sydney, den Blue Mointains und dem Grand Pacific Drive zurück nach Melbourne (Start und Ziel unserer Reise). Als wir dann während unserer Suche das Hotel Q Station gefunden hatten, waren wir auf anhieb begeistert.
