The 70-foot (21-meter) chasm was carved out of granite by the rapid melt of a glacier over 14,000 years ago. The dramatic natural formation offers a myriad trails and rock formations to explore, suitable for all ages from the novice hiker to more experienced climbers. The rock formations have whimsical names like the Coffin, The Pulpit, Lover's Leap, Fat Man's Misery and The Corn Crib. We raised our kids going there and now our grandchildren love it. Lots of changes.
Love places that have handover good hiking capabilities. Sometimes you need more than just walking. Very lovely forest. But not worth $20.00 to park.
Great place for a quick walk in the woods (Charlie’s trail) or choose something a little rockier. Easy to moderate trails. $5 parking for MA residents.
