DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PLACE This place is nothing but a puppy mill disguised as a pet store. After purchasing (in a moment of weakness and after being given the run around at the local humane society) a basset hound, we quickly found out what "quality" puppies this place was selling. puppyworld 17 years ago I bought my beloved bichon from puppy world. She was pet quality not show quality which was fine with me. She was more than a pet she was a member of our family. She passed away at home, six weeks ago. Other family members have purchased puppies from this store and are very pleased. Today we have added new member to our family and hope to have the same wonderful results we had with our bichon. Also we were not over charged like the previous writers. Love them i really don't think anyone knows what they are talking about on here. I have bought three puppies from puppy world and they all have been amazing. My mom also bought our family dog there 6 years ago and she is perfectly healthy and the greatest dog ever. All the puppies we've purchased have been the friendliest dogs I've ever seen. Stay Away! Stay away! They are OVERPRICED for starters. They sell mixed breeds for hundreds of dollars and the puppies come from puppy brokers, not straight from the breeders. A "pek-a-poo"? No, it's a poodle/pekingese mix... Or what about a "puggle" - NO - try a pug/beagle mix. Any intelligent person could get the same mixed breeds at any shelter for a fraction of the price. Veterinary input I am a veterinarian in the city of Milwaukee. As such I see several puppies for their initial puppy exam that have been purchased at Puppyworld Inc. The puppies that I see are generally mixed breed dogs billed as "designer breeds" that come with a designer price tag. They are often small for their breed type with distended abdomens (which can be generally linked to intestinal parasites), open fontanelles (a "soft spot" on their skull), upper respiratory infections, and are otherwise less than optimally healt... read more
In love with our dog! We have had KiKi for about 2+ years. He is an Min. American Eskimo and is affectionate, loving, caring, a bit nuts, the life of every party and generally the perfect dog, especially with us being first time dog owners. We knew the breed that we wanted before going to Puppyworld (prompted by seeing one there we did our homework) and when we went back and saw him he really stood out, bright and energetic. Very considerate So....for myself I had a great experience in Puppyworld about 6 months ago. I bought a shih tzu puppy that has been nothing but the best thing for our family.when i came into the store I had explained the the sales lady the situation in our home. She actaully talked me out of buying a puppy that day because nothing in the storre suited our lifestyle, considering the circumstances. The Best Family Member Im over people bashing pet stores, i don't think puppyworl should be one of them. I do agree there are some that are bad!!! This one isn;t!!! My boyfriends family has a shih tzu that is 17 from there, and my family bought a cairn terrier from ther a year ago, and is th greatest dog ever. I moved due a job change and came back, and decided to buy an english Mastiff from them, Lumpy is very healthy and is affectionate. By the way this breed is known to be shy, and he is far from that.
