I was referred to this office after many years of struggling with hypersomnia and excessive daytime sleepiness. My primary doctor suspected possible narcolepsy due to long-standing symptoms, and I was scheduled for both an overnight PSG and an MSLT. The PSG ruled out sleep apnea, which I expected, and the plan was to remain the following day for the MSLT to evaluate for other causes of excessive sleepiness such as narcolepsy or idiopathic hypersomnia.
