on the 3rd time, They declined and lost my business – I first ate at Pulino's 6 weeks ago ...ordered their Fungi Pizza. very good... not great but I can't be going to Bklyn for Motorino's. The first time I had the fungi pizza, I was told that there were 4 kinds of mushrooms...cremini, porcini, portobello and something else....the pizza was full of them and they tasted liked wild mushrooms and now and then a small bite of pancetta. The crust was average but it held the weight of ingredients well. The second time was the same ... read more

So yesterday – Started off excellent when it first opened. Seemed to go downhill very rapidly. Very expensive and orange lighting a bit sickly. In summer great to sit outside. Seems like the crowd is changing. There was one excellent appetizer, some kind of chick pea dish and that was great. Pulino's don't let your restaurant decline. You had something great when you opened. Get back in gear.

Lots of hype, but does not deliver on the pizza – Was looking forward to trying the pizza at Pulino's, as I do extensive "research" on new pizza places and had high hopes for it. Walking in was like a deja vu - I thought I was in Schillers, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's already been done. Looks aside, I was there for the pizza, and was hugely disappointed. I'm a big fan of thin crust, wood oven pizza, but my 2 pies were awful. The crust was so thin and crispy it had no flavor; it tasted like a cracker. The top... read more

Citysearch Editorial Review – The concept behind the superstar collaboration between James Beard award-winning chef Nate Appleman (San Francisco’s A16) and famous restaurateur Keith McNally (Minetta Tavern, Balthazar) is surprisingly humble: a pizzeria. Well, not too humble; it’s a pizzeria alright, but one outfitted with gorgeous subway tile and walls of back-lit liquor bottles, not to mention it’s populated by the standard McNally crowd of beautiful people. Cooked in combination wood-and-gas-fired ovens, the inventive Neap... read more

NoLita loves Pizza – On way home, passed this new place. Expected it to be ultra jerk central, but I wanted pizza anyways. Came really late, so bouncer asked owner if it was okay for me to order a pizza to go. Owner came out, was exceptionally friendly, and waiting was pleasant. Waiters were attentive as I sat, and pizza was fresh. Expected to go home with an over-cheesy NY pizza... But came home to a glorious pizza of love (aka margarita). No seriously, I sound like a crazy person but the pizza was so good. I mean, SO GOOD.... read more

Ordinary – Typically cool McNally space but been there done that looks like he is running a chain now. Pizza very ordinary, good but not great and for 200.00 for 4 people would have been more pleased at Patsy's. Now maybe we are paying for ambience? but could have been at Schillers looked and felt EXACTLY the same. Server overly aggressive we ordered a bottle of lambrusco and she wanted to poor that out as quickly as possible when 2 in our party did not drink she focused on really topping off the other two then with glasses ... read more
