We went around 3pm on May 23 and didn't see a single one. Morning or dusk is supposed to be better.

People come for the Puffins but the real star is t he incredible seascape. The coastline is extremely rugged with cliffs and sea spires and the water ranges from deep blue to sea green. So beautiful. The hike to the Puffin area is a little rugged and about 10 minutes. Not good for anyone with mobility issues. The day we were there was a little foggy and breezy and the puffins stayed in their nests. You could only see them with binoculars.
