During the Christmas in the Commons event, an employee was controlling inflow of people visiting Santa at the front door. When asking if my three year old daughter could use the restroom, the employee responded “I can’t let the public use the restrooms, otherwise there would be people in and out all the time”. Clearly my understanding of a taxpayer using a public building is incorrect. I imagine the employee was just following directions being handed down to them, so can’t really blame them. The Village of New Lenox has yet once again erected a spectacular Christmas lighting display. This is our third year in a row seeing this amazingly assembly of lights. The Santa Claus and Penguin are just huge; to the absolute delight of both young and older attendees. We will certainly return next year to this over the top event.
