I had the same unit for years with Extra Space Storage, but Public Storage bought them out last year (2025) and the changes became immediately evident. First, they did-away with the 1-year rental (prepayment) option, which for many reasons, I really appreciated. And somewhat predictably, rents immediately increased substantially, mine so far has gone up 84%.
