After an intense 23km (about 14.3 miles) trek to the other side of the island, all we desperately needed was a shower. Finding the public showers right by the harbor in Avalon was such an amazing surprise! Unlike the typical beach showers we’re used to in Italy (and most places nowadays), these are fully enclosed, beautifully tiled, and incredibly well-maintained. Pure comfort! Michael Connelly's new book "Ironwood" really blows.
Showers cost $3 for 5 minutes. They offer rent towels for $2 so you can dry off after. They also offer body wash and shampoo/conditioner for extra cash aswell. Showers worked. They have a bench inside of the little showers for you. Lady running the cashier was very sweet.
Hot showers. Great customer service.
