Dr Patel saw my mother last year who was complaining of bloody stools that were recurring for over a year. She told my mother that it was most likely hemorrhoids and to return for a check up in 3 months. It turned out to be rectal cancer. Had Dr Patel done a simple rectal exam, she would have felt the tumour straightaway - the surgeon later said any doctor could have felt it.
