I just paid for a new dr outside Providence and I paid out of pocket because this dr actually does lab work to figure out what's going on. I didn't bother to go to Providence. I haven't had a good experience with them in the last couple of years.
It is pretty much impossible to get a new patient appointment with Providence. Their solution is to keep calling back in the hopes that one of the doctors will have an opening. Not sure why the administration thinks this is a good solution as it wastes their time and mine. Even if a doctor is accepting new patients, there are never any appointments available. Perhaps the solution is a waiting list? Much more efficient for all involved.
Had swollen and painful lymph nodes in arms, doctor didn't even physically check them. Told me to take ibuprofen and billed $250.
Absolutely worthless and incompetent.... They forgot to send my referral many times and were very rude when I confronted them. I needed a referral to ENT and they just forgot to do it initially ..I had to play phone tag with them for weeks to get them to finally send it over. Note, this was weeks after the "processing time". My daughter will get medical care much later than she needs due to their carelessness. COVID-19 test results from here take at least a week. Got tested July 1 and still no results as of July 8. Other people I know went to other testing locations on the same day and all had results within 2 days. Their lab processing must be backed up, but over 8 days for test results is ridiculous - especially for healthcare workers.
