I was at CAPU for drug abuse and they helped me more than anyone else has helped me the staff were great super kind and very friendly they had great activities to keep us busy and active with the other people there we would watch movies before bed together and they gave you the choice to do the activities or not do the activities I had some great men and women nurses there they would clean are clothes for us and they handled most are stuff with care and personally If I had to go back I wouldn't mind it I learned lots of cool... read more
Seriously, I have never heard of a place ran so horribly. My family member is currently in here to get help, HELP. She calls me frequently to update me and talk to me about anything she wants to, and every day there is a problem with the staff. I am her only support and the only person she trusts. First of all, the other children in the facility have singled her out during activities on multiple occasions and the staff sees no issue, they have not once stepped up or made an effort to include her. I came here when I was 17 after going to the emergency room during a crisis. The ER seemed very urgent to get me in a place regarding my situation and I was put in an unfinished room once I got to CAPU (which I didn’t mind whatsoever, but is a key detail to point out given that my situation was seen as dire and they didn’t want me to wait longer than a couple days to get in somewhere). I'd give it zero stars if I could. I was eight when I was sent there and the staff didn't respect my basic boundaries. Literally scarred me for life and I have flashbacks quite regularly.
