I dislike supporting a business I believe isn't doing right by the employees. My therapist is warm and amazing. However, I feel the heaviness and stress among the staff when I'm in the office. Hearing troubling things about the owner only heightens my discomfort.
Protea Wellness has been the best option for mental healthcare in the Seattle region for over 5 years. They’ve been a bastion of LGBTQIA+ mental healthcare and a positive contributor to the community. I would recommend this org over and over again because as a queer person, I like seeing myself reflected in their staff. If you’re looking for a therapist who you can connect with I highly recommend Protea wellness. They also have sliding scale and take insurance!

There are many capable and compassionate therapists at this clinic, and the quality of care, once accessed, is commendable. However, the administrative side of the operation leaves much to be desired. Communication is poor, follow-through is inconsistent, and the overall organization appears lacking.
