Very disappointed. Just like EVERY OTHER food pantry. Was told this would give me "healthier food" for my diabetes... like lettuce, celery, etc. How does a bag of mashed potatoes, noodles, canned yams in syrup, salty canned veggies, and the like mean "healthy?" They only had Tomatoes, onions, apples and oranges as the healthiest things there at 2150 W Central Ave. Suppose I should give up on healthy foods, as my Medicare Extra Benefit card never arrived a 2nd time. With $24 SNAP, I'm screwed. 400 sugars..... here we go again... read more
