Brent Protiva was sent out to do an appraisal for our home and he came in beyond way to low. He showed homes that were over 5 years old sold in the surrounding neighborhood, and on our own we found ones that were comparable within the last year. He was here for less than 15 min. Did not measure any sheds. We had the home assessed again and it came in 30,000 OVER what this guy did. He did not do his work efficiently and should not do appraisals. Was contacted to do the appraisal for the property I’m buying and didn’t respond to set a date to complete said task for a week. When they came to the property to do the appraisal they did show up on time however a week and a half later they have not sent the appraisal in to go into underwriting, have not requested an extension and when contacted the VA regional office was said they are out of compliance and unprofessional to not reply to any messages from them or the Veterans United Home Loans. Had an appraisal done wich took approximately 30 min and did not turn out correctly as the value was less than it was five years ago which is not possible. Had to have appraisal redone a 2nd time and this time took 2 hr with a different appraiser and real estate agent that one came in $25,000 higher in value. Would not recommend.
