I received ER care on 10/23/23. VA will pay the entire bill as I am a veteran . At the time of services I gave the authorization number ,from VA , to them in order for them to submit the claim and get paid . Today, 6/26/24, I received a letter in the mail from a collection agency for services from them on that date, claiming that I owe $1,475.00. They outsource billing and their help line. The hospital I was served at couldn't even confirm the bill I was sent from a third-party. The whole billing process and related customer service is extremely fishy. Hopefully their business is short lived because their customer service and billing is atrocious.
Today, I took my wife to the ER. She was having a weak and thready pulse, diaphoretic, light headed, and having pressure in her chest. All the symptoms that lead one to be concerned of a potential heart problem. Now, here’s the thing, I’m a doctor right here in Fort Wayne. I dropped her off at the ER entrance. Disgusting company. They double charge you as a way to help insurance companies. Would be like taking your car to the the mechanic and being billed by the shop and then being billed again by the mechanic disgraceful. I dont understand how these people sleep at night. EDIT: You can say its standard billing practice all you want. I was billed for the services I recieved at the ER.
