A great Indian restaurant for quick buffet lunches – I've only been to this place for lunch, but I've enjoyed many good meals here. Of the many Indian restaurants in the area that serve buffets, they have one of the best selections and the food is fresh and tasty. The vegetarian dishes seem more spicy than the meat dishes. Perhaps that's because Indian customers prefer those while Americans gravitate more towards meat and don't like as much heat in their seasoning. Food & customer service was not good – I order masala Uttapa & tea on my visit at saturday 09/13/2008 evening tea was served quickly ,but it was not fresh . After half an hour a lady came & inform me food is almost ready.Finaly I got my food after 1 hour. The food was not delicious.
Will never go back thats for sure! – My daughter and I had the worst experience in this restaurant. We were a bit late but hungry for lunch, and were outside this restaurant a little after 3.30pm. We normally go to Berkeley in the evenings and this was a very rare trip, and the very first and definitly the last) visit to this restaurant. unhygenic restaurant – Half way through dinner we had, lets not mention it, .......... crawling over our food and on the wall. When pointed it out the daughter of the owner seemed calm and nonchalant about it. Food ok, nothing to write home about. Too large a menu, no speciality. Everything seemed to be on the menu for namesake, not because they could cook it well or original about it. Seemed like a common street vendor fast food.
Recommended, with reservations – I was very sad to see the old owners of Priya sell out, but the gentleman was crippled with arthritis, and his wife overworked. These days, another family owns the place and the formerly ethereal tandoori chicken wrap took on a new flavour, and not nearly so delicious, though I couldn't say exactly why.
