I have been a loyal customer here for years and have always appreciated how accommodating this shop used to be. Sadly, my recent visit was quite disappointing. I came in specifically to enjoy some coffee and cake while getting a bit of work done.The shop was empty, and there was no longer a sign at the entrance regarding laptops. I only found out about the strict 'no laptop' policy after I had already ordered and paid (they also didn't have decaf available). This is a really nice place. It provides a relaxed atmosphere made of art, books, quiet and delicious food. It's ideal to escape Camden chaos and very highly recommended :)
A pleasant niche above the popular garden centre, furnished and decorated with interesting antique furniture, textiles and utensils (many of East Asian origin) and a very thoughtful selection of books. Their short menu has mostly Italian-influenced vegetarian dishes, beautifully prepared, properly seasoned and quite delicious. Priced modestly by Central London standards.
Wow wow wow. What a hidden gem. Simply beautiful place with excellent fresh food. Quiet, calm, lovely. My new go to.
