Constant issues with the website and app. Impossible to find your cost basis and breakdown of fees. The e-Statements are completely useless. I really wish my company would use someone else for the 401k. Customer service is offshore and horrendous compared to Schwab and Fidelity. Most recently my 401k vanished off the website.

I have been extremely disappointed with the service from Principal Financial. I’ve been waiting for over a month for my check to be processed and released, and despite multiple inquiries and attempts to resolve the issue, I’ve received no clear answers or assistance. The lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable. I really hate this company. It's always an issue when dealing with them. The point of having a 401k plan is to have a safety net for unfortunate life events but dealing with Principal they're never there to assist. It's always a circus act dealing with them. You literally have to jump through hoops just to retrieve your own money. I wish my employer never had an account with them.
