From the time you check in for your reservation to the time you are finished with your dinner, the entire staff has the utmost amount of class when it comes to your dining experience. The chefs take great pride in preparing your choice off the menu. The wait staff is so cordial and knowledgeable when it comes to explaining each dish even offering suggestions for pairings to go with what's on the menu. While in Rockland, Primo is a reservation that you can't afford to pass on.
I had made a reservation at Primo, but the host could not locate it. We were pretty disappointed as we were not staying close to Rockland and looking forward to having a wonderful dinner there as we had been to Primo's last year. Enter Benjamin, the manager. I really enjoyed my dinner. The other people in my party did not like their choices as much as I enjoyed mine, so my impression is that it could be hit or miss. I enjoyed fois gras with rhubarb, duck breast with cherries, and rhubarb crostata with gelato. My entries were flavorful and the servings were generous. The service was attentive. I was very disappointed in the food. I started with the Stonington scallop appetizer, it was two of the tiniest scallops that you have ever seen. The scallops were fine, what there was of them, the problem was that they were served on a huge pile of salt which I thought was rice until I put a fork full into my mouth.
