About this business

Prickly Pear has been delighting locals as well as travelers with their delectable southwestern dishes since 1991. Served in generous portions, their dishes are perfect for those seeking respite after a long shopping spree or sightseeing excursion. There are nachos to get you started followed by the butternut squash soup which is hit among regular patrons. If you are a light eater, opt for the quesadillas, while the duck meat enchiladas and chimichangas laden with beef brisket are perfect for those with an ardent appetite.

Prickly Pear Fabulous southwest menu in a quaint atmosphere right on Main Street in downtown Ann Arbor. In the summer months you can dine al fresco both in front and back of the restarant. Worth the wait and a great place for salsa, chips and magaritas.

Good variety of mexican. – There have good margaritas and variety of mexican food. It is not the typical dishes always offered, they there is some of that. A good variety where you can find something you like.

Overrated – The ambience at Prickly Pear is nice, and the staff is nice as well; there are also vegetarian options. However, the rice was bland, as was the salsa, and there were unlisted ingredients in my enchilada (fruit) that I didn't like. The food was also pretty cold by the time I got it. I think this place is overrated and the food is not good enough to justify the prices.

Very cozy restaurant. The best margarita for your money and the buffalo enchiladas are not to be outdone.

The asterick is this - it is a long and narrow resturant that when full is incredibly noisy and incredibly cramped. The waiters have to run a guantlet and obstacle course just to take an order. Parking is a bit of a pain to since it is downtown. If you are there in nice weather take advantage of the outdoor seating, but get there very early or be prepared to wait - they don't take reservations! All th... read more

Perfect on a summer night! – The dining room is tiny, but the sidewalk tables out front are great for people-watching and the back patio is beautiful with lots of vines and shady trees strung with lights. The food is a somewhat gourmet take on southwestern fare and is delicious, as are the margaritas. I have tried most of the things on the menu and have liked all of them. If there's a long wait for a table, I recommend walking down the street and grabbing coffee or a drink at Cafe Felix.
