Bad Customer Service – I was tricked into signing a one year service contract with Preventive Pest Control by one of their door-to-door salesman. I inititally refused to sign the contract, but then the salesman told me that I could at least have the initial treatment done and then cancel the contract within three days business days without any fees. The service was scheduled to happen before the end of the third business day so that I could call and cancel. All this was to be done for only $50. It sounded like a good deal, so I signed the contract.
Well after I had the service done, I called to cancel and was told that since I had the first treatment that I had to pay the full price: $159.00, more than double what I thought I would have to pay. I called the salesman who sold me the service and he claimed he had no idea that was in the contract. I tried explaining what happened to the office personell, but they told me there was nothing they could do about it and that I would have to pay it. What makes matters worse is that I have seen more bugs in and around my house since they sprayed and Preventive Pest Control can't even come and respray it for me, citing that "They don't guarantee their work on the first service." So basically, it's too bad for us that we paid $159.00 for a service that doesn't even work. I think this company and its salesman are shady, deceiving, and very unwilling to own up to their mistakes and work with customers. Oh and if you're wondering how much a year-round service is from them, it's about $600 dollars, way to expensive for pest control that doesn't work. These people are focused on sucking every last dollar out of their customers and not on quality service. I would not recommend using Preventive Pest Control.
