Worst alcohol detox ever. I have been there 4 times. The 1st 3 were ok. They don’t really manage your symptoms well unless your blood pressure is extremely high. The nurse Faye was the Worst nurse ever the last time that I was there. She was completely uncaring, not compassionate and doesn’t even know the basics of withdrawal as it pertains to different basic bodily functions. You can tell by the comments who takes recovery seriously and who is still in denial. Im greatful for this place. Still sober years after.
Your childish to get pissed off at a doctor for refusing to put you into percipated withdrawal detoxing from 10+ bags of fetynal a day refusing to continue your addiction giving you numerous benzos or what have you and kill you and ruin their career. It's not a doctor's fault your a addict it's yours. This place saved my life. I almost have 2 years sober, I'm married, left Chicago, enrolled to college and a recovery coach on the side since moving to South Carolina . I'm eternally grateful for harborview.
Life Saving
If your going for alchlloc treatment you'll be totally fine. They will treat you with respect and dignity and make sure you're comfortable. However, if your trying to detox from anything other than alcohol do yourself a favor and DO NOT go here. They don't know how to treat opiate withdrawl. They threw me into post acute withdrawls. I have literal PTSD from my last experience at this place. They left me so sick, I couldn't sleep for days, I was in such immense pain and they had absolutely no idea how to help me.
