Everyone warned me about buying a Preferred Home and all of the criticisms turned out to be true. I purchased my home less than one year ago and have repeatedly had water in my basement. Preferred has a dry basement guarantee for one year, but each time I call them they tell me to read the fine print. In short order here are my issues: a wet basement, terrible seed, the home wasnt plumbed for a water softener, the drywall seams are visible in the living room, lots of hardware need to be replaced including door knobs. For anybody looking to build a home I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. Preferred Homes and the owner Bill Bohn should not be trusted with such an expensive investment. Dont be drawn in by the lower price, there is a reason for that. Youll have to pay for all the costs to fix the problems left behind by Preferred Homes.
