I presented at 7:30pm Sunday 13th July 2026 with a child unwell with a suspected double ear infection. We were told by the receptionist/ triage nurse the doctor wasn’t seeing more patients despite it closing at 10pm. Absolutely disgraceful to do this to anyone. The whole point of these clinics is when GPs are closed and you need medical care to go there instead of a hospital. I wheeled the child over to the Alfred emergency care which don’t usually see children. At least they showed some compassion and ethics.
Bad experience. The service was extremely poor. I had to wait for hours to be seen, and there was only one doctor for everyone. Worst of all, he spent more time talking than actually attending to patients, while the waiting room kept filling up. I do not recommend this place at all
They deceive you to think they are part of the hospital emergency, but be warned, they are not. Dodgy, very dodgy. Once you are there, be ready to wait for hours and hours even if you are the only patient in the waiting room. If they try to take you there from the emergency department, do yourself a favour and find a private clinic elsewhere. This is ridiculous!!
This urgent care clinic has moved from its original location, and is now inside the Alfred Hospital's emergency department. In other words, the urgent care clinic doesn't actually exist anymore. The emergency department has just added a new area/room for less severe illness. How to get there: Go to the emergency department, and check-in at the reception. The nurse will ask about your illness, and they will decide if you are an urgent care or emergency case.
Attended this morning for acute tonsillitis symptoms. Was seen quickly and prescribed, antibiotics, pain relief and an anti-inflammatory. Would definitely recommend the service.
