Called 111 this morning after hurting my finger in a car door—they advised me to come here.Turned out I had a severe subungual hematoma (blood under the nail). They did an X-ray, drained it, and wow, instant relief! In and out in under 45 minutes, and the staff were really kind too.

I'm going to be honest it's pretty grim in there but they get the job done. Waited 5 hours for an x-ray of my foot. Not enough chairs, people were standing against the walls. Little children running up and down the room and screaming because there's nothing for them to do and not a single toy. No cups at the water machine. Just come prepared for a long wait, bring your own pain relief, bring a powerbank, bring a book, some headphones, some food... otherwise you will lose it. Twice now I have had a bad experience here and I see I'm not the only one. The first was where my daughter was sent home saying there was nothing wrong with her when her fever was at 38 degrees even with meds. Telling me that her having a fever is not a bad thing. That was also after I informed them she she had a fever for 5 days prior to coming in. I left not agreeing with them. She was diagnosed at the doctors surgery the next day with pneumonia and given a course of antibiotics. The second incidence I went in and arrived ... read more
