Started out confused due to owner turnover, then declined in care, two showers in 18 days, when it was to be twice a week. Offered shower at 8:00 pm. Stern talk about incontinent issues by night staff, also argue in regards to medication care at night before bed. Wound care was order daily, only attended to twice. Towards discharge time doubled up on PT and OT. My family is appaled that elder patients are abused in any facility but this place is despicable. My elderly mom, with dementia, spent a couple of weeks at ACCELerate with several fractured ribs. The nurses, PAs, and therapists were all competent, caring and friendly. A couple of the CNAs were nice, friendly and helpful; but most were just “doing their job” — efficient but not exactly overflowing with compassion. There were two who were flat-out rude, lazy, dismissive and aggressive. Unfortunately, the CNAs are who you have the most interaction with while you’re there. My mother sadly has had countless health issues and has been in and out of hospitals and rehab centers the past three years. Without doubt the care at Accelerate is THE best care she has had at any medical establishment. Her situation was VERY complicated and the nurses were patient beyond words; so caring, compassionate and respectful.
