Great beer with exceptional views!
One of the two bars I tend to actually go to in Port Townsend, Pourhouse is nicely atmospheric with a large outdoor seating area featuring a covered patio, tables with umbrellas, tables without umbrellas and a ping-pong table. It's right on the beach, which provides a pleasant, if sometimes slightly chill breeze. There is some indoor seating, but significantly less than outdoors, so i generally expect to be outside. Beautiful outdoor area, horrible experience with staff. I'm well aware that Washington has overly strict laws involving minors sitting in "bar" restricted areas, but I never imagined this would be an issue after I turned 21. Due to some unfortunate circumstances my ID was expired by one week. Staff said they couldn't serve me alcohol because of this, citing Washington's "strict laws" as reasoning. Great spot for a pint! The patio and water views are absolutely beautiful, making it the perfect place to unwind. We loved the casual vibe and the shell-your-own peanuts to snack on. They have a solid craft selection, though I do wish the tap list leaned a bit more local to the peninsula rather than being so heavy on Seattle brews. Still highly recommend for the atmosphere alone!
