I wanted to get something little for my mother in law who is Aboriginal. I’m Tongan but born in New Zealand and wanted to get her a gift that I know she will appreciate and hasn’t received before. Excellent range. They have their handmade taonga as well as a range of mass produced stuff at a very affordable price.
I had not expected the prices here. The pieces are so cleanly cut and polished with a low price! A teardrop ear ring the size of a thumb is 60 dollars. I paid the same 60 dollars in hokitika and got a miniscule tear drop the size of an ant. The jade here is all genuinely NZ Pounamu. It glows with a bright green hue under a torchlight.
