We stayed at Poughkeepsie Yacht Club around July 17th last summer. We were returning to our home port on Lake Champlain, having taken out our sailboat, Arapesh the year before via the St. Lawrence to Halifax. In fact, we were returning to Poughkeepsie Yacht Club having stayed there on a trip south to the Bahamas in 2015-2016. Each time we received a warm welcome. People were very friendly and made us feel right at home. The facility is a bit outdated but very clean and well taken care of. Members asked us if we needed a ride to grocery, etc. I would join Poughkeepsie Yacht Club if we lived in the area.
We were heading south on the Hudson and stopped here for a couple of nights on a mooring ball. Very reasonable price with laundry, bathrooms and showers included. Beautiful quiet location. We really enjoyed our stay. The members were really helpful. They received an Amazon package for me and when I was planning to ride my bike to town to pick up some motor oil, one of the members drove me - very much appreciated!
