I ordered a tuna salad original sandwich without Swiss and NO HOT PEPPER. Upon ordering the guy making my sandwich misheard me and asked: “okay so tomato, onion, and hot pepper?” I corrected him and said no hot pepper. When I got into the car and bit into my sandwich, I felt HOT PEPPER. there were no hot peppers in sight. There was most likely hot pepper essence in my sandwich. Phantom hot pepper. Do better pot belly. 💔
The staff here is very friendly! I’ve done a couple pick up orders here since i work nearby and they always greet me with a smile and ask if I need anything else. I’m a vegetarian so I customize the veggie melt with no mushrooms and extra toppings and it’s really good. Their mac and cheese is also very tasty. Prices are a bit steep but obviously the employees don’t get to decide that. Superb service, BLTA with turkey plus Aoli garlic sauce was a great taste.
I’ve been going to Potbelly for years and, up until recently, I’ve never had any issues. However, the employees at the South Elgin location have been extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. One evening, I placed an order for four subs and four shakes during the dinner rush. Instead of taking care of the line first, the employee made all four shakes while I was still five customers back waiting to pay. By the time I got to the register, the shakes were already melting.
