It was my birthday and we had a wonderful bottle of red wine and two great appetizers the soup of the day as well as the calamari which is so nice not to have fried for our means we had the veal and prosciutto and the cioppini Del Mar. Everything was reasonably priced when having a fine dining meal which is hard to find in Burnaby
The food is good but not great. The caesar salad was very disappointing. Maybe 10 pieces of lettuce and a smattering of cheese. We went for the Ossobuco! My son had been watching a cooking show and heard about it. He had just graduated college so I wanted to treat him. There were only a couple places that serve it and Portobello was our pick. The inside is small and cosy, very clean. We had made reservations and were seated right away. Had an amazing experience for my birthday dinner! Staff and everyone was friendly and the food was flavourful and came in big portions. The food was so fresh and tasted straight out my moms kitchen. Authentic food can be found right here at Portobello. 🟫
