We recently finished a 6 day cruise on Freedom. We were a group of 6 adults and two children - 14 and 11 - and I was skippering. We had mixed weather with strong wind warnings three of the days, some heavy showers and also some champagne conditions towards the end of the trip. The boat handled it all brilliantly. We have just returned from our 5 day sail.on whitsunday freedom ( April 2025) and are already planning our next trip. What an experience. The boat was great and surprisingly comfortable. Brad provided great training and was always available via the communication app if we had any questions or to provide advice on places to visit. What an amazing experience! We swam, snorkeled, sunbaked, and made the most amazing memories! Brad was amazing every step of the way, and always ensured we were getting to the best spots everyday. Freedom is so well equipped throughout, it has all the facilities you could wish for. We are already planning our next sailing holiday! A big thanks to Brad for everything!
We have just returned from our second adventure with Portland Roads, this time on Lucy after last year being on Due West & again, wow, we were not disappointed. Lucy was a joy to to be on and easily handled the variable conditions we faced. We lived, ate, slept and sailed in comfort and did not want for anything & Lucy felt like our home away from home while we were on board. Wow what an experience. John and Michael have been such amazing hosts. The trip started with a thorough induction of the boat and the area and the significance of the area to the indigenous people. This is all before you even get to experience all the wonders this area has to showcase. You get expert guidance on what areas to go to for safety and thrills.
