Wonderful verandah open to sea breezes off the Coral Sea. Very comfortable accommodation, great hosts, Greg and Sheree, and super food in their cafe next door. So many places to see in the rainfores

Had a fantastic experience at Portland House. Stayed for 5 nights in January as a group of four ecologists. It's a lovely, big and well laid out house with great views. Sheree and Greg were wonderfully helpful with planning, local information, and vehicle logistics. Great time of year to visit too - we managed to see all the region's endemic birds and almost all the reptiles and frogs we targeted. The most amazing house and location. Such a great place to relax and unwind. Fishing, boating and treasure hunting on the beach. Sad to leave but definitely will be back. Thank you so much for you hospitality Greg and Sheree!!! Had the best holiday here 🥰
Beautiful house to rest and relax while enjoying the local area. Our stay at Portland House and delicious fresh seafood meal, Chai & homemade cakes from Out of the Blue Cafe were one of the highlights of our Cape York trip. The home is rustic, full of character, well equipped, extremely comfortable and well designed for relaxing while taking in the beautiful ocean views. Sunset was stunning and lazing in the hammock on the deck an absolute treat. We loved it.
